A dedicated time-lapse camera documented the site construction and installation of the Parramatta Council vintage bus art project in Sydney. The finished film captures the complete transformation of the public space, showcasing the complex installation process from start to finish.
Parramatta Bus Art Installation Time-Lapse
Weekly progress video
For this sculpture installation, a solar-powered time-lapse camera was secured to an adjacent mall lighting pole. Because dynamic projects require active oversight, we monitored the progress and relocated the system mid-build to optimize the framing. Continuous 24/7 capture allowed us to seamlessly render the day-to-night lighting transitions, ensuring the final footage was as artistic as the installation itself.
««Shop fit-out and art installation FAQs»»
How are cameras mounted inside a shop or showroom?
Non-destructive mounting methods are utilised to suit the available surfaces
and camera positions. These can include wood cowling, silicone and heavy-duty
hook-and-loop fastenings.
Do the cameras
need a nearby power outlet?
No. Our outdoor setups utilise custom-built solar systems, while battery-powered
cameras are used for interior filming. This means camera positions never need
to be tethered to a power outlet.
How
are camera positions chosen for art installations?
Camera positions are chosen to show the making or installation of the artwork
without obstructing the artist or the public. The Antonia
Mrljak studio film used a non-destructive wall mount opposite the artwork.
The Sydney
Airport sand sculpture film used a camera mounted high on an opposite
light pole.
