A dedicated time-lapse camera recorded Antonia Mrljak creating a large-scale triptych in her Sydney studio. The time-lapse follows the creative construction and painting process from blank canvases through to the finished artwork.
Recording the triptych as it developed
Filming took place over several months during the COVID lockdown. The time-lapse
camera was positioned on the wall opposite with non-destructive mounts alongside
a studio lighting setup, utilising a custom relay system to automatically
trigger the camera whenever the lights were turned on.
Remote monitoring and secure uploads to Electric Films servers were conducted
periodically throughout the extensive painting process.
